Katy, Texas · A working farm
This is still a farm. Not a barn shaped like one.
Blake Beckendorff is the fourth generation to farm this ground, and he grows more than 36 varieties of heirloom tomatoes on it, along with squash, onions, zucchini, eggplant, peppers and a long list of herbs.

Squash, onions, zucchini, eggplant, peppers, and more than 36 kinds of tomato.
Robert Beckendorff started with cotton in the late 1880s, then corn, peanuts and rice. Blake farms different crops now, heirloom tomatoes chief among them, but it is the same ground his great grandfather broke.

Where it goes
Houston chefs cook with what Blake grows.
Pearl and Vine in Katy buys direct from the farm. So do Brennan's and Potente in Houston. It is the same heirloom tomatoes your table gets at the produce sale, just plated a little differently.
Once a year, and then every week
The plant sale, the produce stand, and yes, the pickles.
The farm hosts an annual tomato plant sale in early spring and a produce sale every week through the summer. Couples who married in the barn come back for it. Ask when you tour and we will let you know when the next one lands.
Every tomato that's picked, loaded into the barn and sold, we do it together. It's truly become a family affair.
They have the best tomato plants in early spring and beautiful tomatoes in the summer. If you go, grab a jar of pickles too.
Come hungry
Tour the barn. Then come back for the tomatoes.
The venue and the farm are the same twenty eight acres. Most couples who book a tour end up asking about both.
